![]() ![]() ![]() | CSV to WPLCSV to WPL is useful for Windows Media Player users who have a large music library and a long list of artists within that library that they'd like to listen to using an automatically-generated playlist. Windows Media Player makes automatic playlists by searching your library for a list of artists. Currently, you have to input each artist by hand. For a large list of bands, inputting each artist by hand takes quite a bit of time. This program will instead generate a Windows Media Player playlist (WPL) from a list of performers in comma-separated-values (CSV) format.
CSV tutorialsHere are tutorials for creating CSVs in OpenOffice or Excel.
CSV to WPL examplesCoachella ArtistsThis project started out to only use Eventful files. But then I stumbled across these beautiful comma-separated lists of bands playing at Coachella. I copied the list for each day, pasted it into Notepad, saved it as, for example, coafri.csv, uploaded it using the upload form on this page, and got playlists for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Coachella.
